I think, despite appearances, they have but a single podex… I haven’t looked it up, but I don’t think any creature with two or more has ever existed. Now THAT would be a fossil find to mystify the world of natural history! RH

Melinda Riger does it again. Incredible octopus photos here, RH–the colors, shapes and postures, even the eerie eyes. I once saw an octopus while snorkeling, I was so flabbergasted. Within 2 seconds I had my partner there to see it too, but by then the octopus had vanished (i.e., pulled a disappearing act). Fun narrative and musical digression. My thanks~~
